Life & Mobility’s wheelchairs and mobility scooters are manufactured in Doetinchem. From the first sketch until the product leaves the factory. This occupies us all, all the time. These are the departments and their specific responsibilities:
Product Management
'We define the needs of all our customers and translate them into products'
The creative Product Managers are good for a lot of new product ideas. Of course not every idea is feasible. So we do market research, identify trends and evaluate our products with clients. Product Management is responsible for the complete range offered by Life & Mobility.
Product Development
'It’s a great moment when an idea reaches the stage at which we can start work on it as a prototype’
In the development department, draughtsmen, constructors, hardware and software engineers and technical specialists work together on the development of new products and the modification of existing products until they are suitable for production. All tests, assembly instructions, specifications of purchase parts and technical production drawings are made here.
Quality
'Very precise and very thorough, that's what we love’
Every part that is made for Life & Mobility is checked here before it becomes part of a wheelchair or mobility scooter. And of course we check the products leaving our factory. Not only national and international quality standards play a role here, but also aspects such as sustainability and the environment.
Logistics
‘Bring all the components together at the right time, otherwise you simply don’t have a product’
Getting the right parts to your colleagues at the right time. The Logistics department is responsible for all goods flows within the organisation: from receipt of incoming goods and warehouse management up to and including the shipment of products and parts to clients.
Assembly
'Pre-assembly or final assembly... no wheelchair would leave the factory without us...’
How long does it take to put a wheelchair together? Everyone here has their own personal record, but the main thing is that it’s done properly. Each wheelchair is composed of standard parts based on the sizes and specifications of the user and delivered to size.
Custom-Made
‘If our range is not quite what you’re looking for, we’ll simply adapt it so that it is what you’re looking for’
When the end user’s requirement falls outside the standard range of Life & Mobility, our “little Einsteins” (experienced technical specialists) come in handy! They realise any required solution by carefully adapting standard parts. This is accurately documented for reproducing.
ICT
‘Everyone at L & M knows our number by heart’
Or Kasper and Jeremy. Are you having trouble with your laptop, with internet or the network? If so, they will resolve the problem for you. The ICT Department quite simply ensures that the digital communication proceeds smoothly. Not only internally, but also the communication with Life & Mobility’s business relations.
Service
"We drop by anytime, no problem’
Is something broken, in need of replacing or not working properly? We are Alwin and Marcel and we are at your service! As service mechanics we provide fast adequate service on location. This is essential when you’re dependent on a wheelchair. And when needed we also train dealers to assemble the chairs.
Sales
'A satisfied customer is the least we aim for’
We maintain our business relations and advise current and new customers. Because our products are adjusted exactly to the end user, we take great care in advising our customers. The Product Advisers are part of the Sales Department. They assist the dealers, if required, in adapting wheelchairs or mobility scooters for their clients.
Purchase
'A good relationship with a supplier is worth its weight in gold’
The Purchase Department selects the right suppliers, both in the Netherlands and abroad, to supply the production parts for our products. Purchase makes sure that these parts are available on time and meet the required quality requirements. And of course at a competitive price...
Reception
‘Every visitor should feel welcome, both at the reception desk and on the telephone’
So our Reception is essential. Esther and Sandra are happy to help you! Here it’s easy to see that at Life & Mobility we have an accessible, social and open culture.
