Do you need a personal adaptation because our standard range is not quite what you’re looking for? If so, we are happy to help you and adapt our products for you to meet your requirements. We call this ‘Custom-Made Aids’.
Individual adaptations
Willy and Hans, our specialists, design, build and test these adaptations. If needed, our product advisers help to determine the right specifications so that the solution matches your expectations and those of the end user perfectly.
Adaptations can be made to our manual wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs and the Matrixx seating system. For the often more complex adaptations to electric wheelchairs we have a special department within the Life & Mobility Group. So we can offer a quick and adequate solution here too.
Procedure
You can find and download the adaptation form you need for your adaption at the right side of this page. Our Customer Service Department will handle your request. We will consult with you to define the specifications of the requested adaptation as clearly as possible. This is important to ensure that the process runs smoothly and quickly and to meet the expectations of the end user. We will then send you a quotation and a delivery indication.
Depending on the requested solution, there are three options:
We adapt the relevant chair in our factory
We send the solution to you for you to assemble this on the chair yourself
We build the solution on a new wheelchair
The chair might need to be tested during this process. If so, our Customer Service Department will contact you to discuss how best to organise this.
Liability & Safety
In recent years, legislation on the liability for medical aids has been tightened. During the design of the solutions, we also carry out a risk analysis. This enables us to guarantee that we can deliver a safe product. We can often confirm this with the issue of a CE conformity marking that is visible on the product as a CE sticker. In other cases we use a Custom-Made sticker. Remember. This does not mean that the wheelchair is always crash test-safe as well. You can see this in 'taxi hook-fastener symbols' that may or may not be stuck to the wheelchair. In case of doubt, you can always phone our Customer Service Department.
